Sixth Form Paris Trip November 2015

Our Sixth Form Paris Trip will be taking place between the 5th 7th of November 2015 and all future and current 6th Formers enrolled September 2015 are eligible for a place.

The trip will cost £99 and is subsidised for all students, those on Free School Meals will attract further support to bring the cost down further to allow everyone to participate. Limited places available.

A deposit of £49.00 must be paid via Parentpay by Friday 24th April – for ECS students. External applicants must contact the school directly.

Sixth Form Amsterdam Trip September 2014

FRIDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2014 – SUNDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2014

YEAR 12/13 AMSTERDAM TRIP

(also available for students in Year 11, internal & external, who have applied to join ECS Sixth Form for September 2014)

As part of our Sixth Form enrichment programme we have made a provisional reservation for a trip to Amsterdam for our Year 12 and 13 students.  The dates are Friday 26th September to Sunday 28th September.  We will be staying in MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West in Amsterdam where students will share twin or multi-bedded rooms with shower and wc.  The facilities include bed and breakfast and the students will have one dinner included at a nearby restaurant.

We are planning to include the following visits and more:-

  • Tour of City
  • Van Gogh Museum
  • Ajax Stadium
  • Canal Cruise
  • Cheese Factory
  • Windmill and Tulip Farm
  • Ann Frank’s House

The trip has been considerably subsidised to allow as many students as possible access to this fantastic experience.  The cost to each student will be £99.00, including travel by coach, Eurotunnel crossing and accommodation in Amsterdam for 3 days, breakfast on both mornings, evening meal on one evening, most of the visits and activities and insurance.  We require a non- refundable deposit of £50.00 by Friday 9th May (extended date) for a place to be reserved.  We will not be able to secure places after this date.  This can be paid via your parent pay account or at a pay point shop using the barcode which we will issue to you.  Students who are in receipt of FSM will be able to access a further subsidy to the cost of the trip (please contact Ms J Williams or Ms E Halil, Sixth Form Student Managers for more information).

Once we receive the first deposit, we will inform you of the details and deadlines for the other payment.

Paris Trip 2013 Update

On Thursday 26th September, over 150 year 12 and 13 students, plus staff from Edmonton County School embarked on a team-building trip to the heart of Paris.

With many places to visit and activities to take part in over the three days and two nights, it was an action packed adventure.

Having descended at the Ibis Hotel in Montmartre late Thursday night, getting up at 6:30 the next morning proved to be a shock to the system! However, bleary eyed but ready to take on the day’s excitement, we set off for our first activity of the trip.

Throughout our stay we had several challenges to complete, and with prizes at stake, our competitive streaks certainly kicked in. Each group had their own team mascot, and we managed to take an amazing amount of creative shots of our Pierre le Bear around the city! Armed with our useful but basic French phrases and distant memories of GCSE French, we endeavoured to communicate with staff in museums and attractions, in shops buying obligatory souvenirs, and most important of all, feeding ourselves in restaurants and cafés.

With the purpose of this trip being to bond with our peers, I can honestly say that over this short period of time friendships were strengthened across the year groups. Having been given enough independence in order to fend for ourselves, we achieved far more than we would’ve believed, and returned home full of confidence, ready for the challenges we have yet to come!

Italy Ski Trip Easter 2014

The tour will travel to the town of Bormio, spending 5 nights Full Board at the Hotel Baita Montana (link)

The following are all included in the price (£650):

  •  Transport via coach
  •  Ferry crossing 
  •  Full Board Accommodation 
  •  Lift passes 
  •  5 ski lessons each lasting 4 hours 
  •  All ski equipment, including helmets 
  •  Comprehensive insurance 
  •  In house quiz evening 

Three additional evenings with entertainment eg. Bowling, skating and swimming.

The tour is available for students in Years 9 – 13 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For further information collected a letter from the PE department.

The dates are Thursday 26th September (late afternoon departure) to Saturday 28th September (late return).
We will be staying in the Ibis Berthier Porte de Clichy hotel in Paris where students will share twin bedded rooms with bath/shower and wc. The facilities include bed and breakfast and the students will have dinner at a nearby restaurant on the Friday evening.

The itinerary will include the following visits and more:

  •  Arc de Triomphe
  •  Louvre
  •  Notre Dame
  •  Chateau de Versailles
  •  A cruise along the Seine
  •  Eiffel Tower

The trip has been considerably subsidised to allow as many students as possible access to this fantastic experience. The cost to each student will be £99.00, including travel to the London, Eurostar and underground in Paris for 3 days, accommodation, breakfast on both mornings, evening meal on the Friday, most of the visits and activities and insurance.

We require this return slip to be completed and returned to the school office and a non refundable deposit of £50.00 by Friday 24th May for a place to be reserved.

We will not be able to secure places after this date.

This can be paid either cash or cheque made payable to Edmonton County School. Students who are in receipt of FSM will be able to access a further subsidy to the cost of the trip (please contact Ms J Williams or Ms E Halil, Sixth Form Student Managers for more information).

Once we receive the first deposit, we will inform you of the details and deadlines for the other payment.
