Parenting Skills Course

Would you like to meet other parents who want to develop their parenting skills? If so this is for you…

What does it involve?

The programme runs for 12 weeks. Each session lasts for 2 hrs. The problem solving approach gives parents a 6-point plan to approach the difficulties the young person may present. We help you to identify and recognise trigger points and show you how to avoid arguments and difficult situations.

The aim of this programme:

  • To help parents improve the way they communicate with their young people, winning their cooperation and maintaining control within the family.
  • We can help you develop and set clear boundaries around acceptable and unacceptable behaviour that suits you and your family.
  • We can help you to explore and identify strategies for dealing with difficult behaviour and help you to regain control and influence your young person’s views.
  • It’s important to try out ideas to find out what does work for you as a parent.
  • To help parents not just in coping with teenagers but in helping them with the pressures they are facing.
