Our Aim

The department is committed to raising achievement of all our pupils and giving them full scope to achieve their full potential whilst making the most of the talents of our multicultural intake. At KS3 and KS4 the curriculum has been created to follow the Enfield Agreed Syllabus in Religious Studies. This allows pupils to study a wide range of religious beliefs and practises with schemes of work that are both imaginative and innovative. We encourage the use of a wide variety of Teaching and Learning styles.

We have worked together to adapt our Year 7 curriculum to fit into the Past, Present and Future (PPF) structure the school is running for all year 7 pupils this academic year (09-10). This means Yr 7 are taught Religious Studies in a morning block along with PSHE/Citizenship, Geography and History. In this block Religious Studies has been re-named Ethics and Society as it is taught in a double lesson alongside PSHE/Citizenship. The aim of PPF is to try and engender cross curricular skills in these 4 humanities based subjects and get the pupils to begin to see patterns and links between our geography, history religion and social culture.

There are designated rooms for teaching Religious Studies on the Lower School and the Upper School sites.
