Student, Parents and Community Committee
Purposes
- To support the school with reviews of the Behaviour Policy and ensure that it is fairly implemented and supports the aims of the school.
- To monitor and review exclusion statistics to ensure that procedures are fair and consistent.
- To respond to any complaints about the school in accordance with approved procedures.
- To recommend to governors any changes related to students, parents or the community.
- To keep the Full Governing Body informed.
Committee Groups Held as Needed
Exclusion
- To be made up of thee governors and to be convened for all permanent exclusions.
- To meet with any student excluded for over fifteen days in one term.
- To decide either to support the action of the Headteacher or agree that the sanctions were unfair. In the case of a permanent exclusion, the Governor’s Panel has the power to reinstate the student.
Informal Exclusion Meetings
- Individual Governors may be asked to meet with a student who has had some exclusions and we think it might be useful to do so, and their parent(s) / carer(s).
Complaints Against the School
- Complaints against the school are dealt with by a panel of three governors who are not employed at the school.
