Welcome To Edmonton County Sixth Form, Educating our community for success.
KS5 Product Design offers students the opportunity to build on the skills they learnt during KS4 Product Design. Student become more independent learners in order to work towards potentially a career within the Product Design industry. The Design department has excellent facilities so that all students have the opportunity to fulfil their full potential. We offer school trips and we invite guest speakers to come in to give talks to the students.

The Design Department at Edmonton County School comprises of both Design Technology and Textiles with pupils have opportunities to study these from year 7, before being able to peruse both of these as an option for Key Stage 4 and Textiles at Key Stage 5.
The school is well equipped for both Design Technology and Textiles, offering specialist workshops, textile classrooms and computer facilities for pupils to access Computer Aided Design opportunities and is taught by dedicated teachers on both Bury and Cambridge sites.
The aim of the Design Department is to facilitate pupils learning, knowledge and enjoyment of DT and Textiles and for pupils to be able to develop both practical skills and theoretical knowledge; whilst also increasing pupils awareness of wider social, moral and cultural issues which impact on the world of Design and the increasingly technological world they live in.
Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities/ clubs to develop their interest and skills in DT and Textiles. Prior activities have included visits to museums, galleries and exhibitions such as the Alexander McQueen exhibition for Textiles and the ‘Make the Future’ Shell event in London for DT.
