Is your child looking for an alternative route into a law career? Dentons offer a six-year structured training apprenticeship which combines work and study, and gives them a law

What’s the Bright Future Apprenticeship Programme?

This exciting scheme gives them the opportunity to qualify as a solicitor and be awarded an LLB university degree by BPP University. Our six-year programme combines work-based learning in our London office and part-time study. They will earn a £20,000 salary and have no university fees to pay and will also have one day a week to study and attend classes at BPP University. Their Law School is based in the heart of London’s legal district and has an excellent reputation for offering students the skills they need to succeed in law.

Six students from Year 9 were privileged to take part in a KS3 Stem event for females at the University of West Scotland London. There were two short presentations from JP Morgan (global technology leaders) and We are Snook (an award winning Design Agency based in London and Glasgow), who shared their stories of how they started out and progressed in their careers.

NCS were in action again this time delivering Employability sessions to our Year 12’s. The students participated in a variety of activities one that look at skills required for careers they are interested in. This required thinking on their part as well as identifying that although a job might be different, similar skills would be used, like team building, communication, problem solving etc.

On the 1st March eight Year 12 students braved the “Big Freeze” to attend a day at Cambridge University. The students were hosted by Newnham College; a women only constituent college of the University of Cambridge. On this occasions there were no males, so this worked out well.

Electronic Engineering Taster Day

Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham are holding an Electronic Engineering taster day on the 7th February 2018 from 10 – 3pm. The taster event is appropriate for Year 11, 12 and 13 students with a keen interest in Engineering and the Sciences and is a great way for pupils at to get an insight into the world of Electronic Engineering in Higher Education. It will also be a fantastic addition to any UCAS personal statement as it will display that the student is motivated to study the subject.

Friday 15th December


On the 1st December 15 students from Year 11-13 participated in this year Christmas Lecture at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. They were treated to talks from students about to qualify, Midwifes and a Gynaecologist who specialist areas have led to doing research with NASA and also different parts of the country and world.

The programme is academically intensive and challenging but also fun. Completely free of charge and covers all accommodation, food and travel expenses and any associated academic or social activity cost. Many participants have gone on to make successful applications to Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group Universities.

YOUR LIFE Workshop
On Friday 7th July, 19 Year 9 & 10 students participated in an online workshop to gain more insight into STEM and careers in the 21st Century. The students were each given their own advisor who talked about own professional career and steps they took to getting there. The students engaged with Engineers, It Consultants, Chemical tester, Architects and many more.
On reflection students gained knowledge into what subject they need to be thinking about when picking their A Level courses and how to research this further. This was a great opportunity for our students; proud of how they conducted themselves!
