House Fundraising News

As you are aware in the lead up to the December Holiday season Edmonton County pupils and staff were raising money towards the Unicef Ebola appeal and the homeless charity, Crisis. The staff and pupils at ECS worked hard carrying out a number of interesting activities which helped raise lots of money. The fantastic final total was £1481.43. This was an amazing amount raised, our students should feel very proud and this will make a massive difference to people’s lives around the globe.

All four houses carried out some exciting events which were well supported by all staff and pupils. Jupiter house ran a tug of war and paper chain competition which was highly competitive and raised a lot of money. Saturn house carried out a bake sale, charity basketball game and a guess the sweets in the jar competition; the generosity of the pupils towards these events was outstanding. Neptune ran a donut challenge with all involved getting very messy and finally Mercury ran a loose change jar which raised a good amount.

With the generous support that everyone has given towards these two charities we will be able to help many of the families and individuals affected not only to meet essential daily needs, but to work toward a brighter future.

For more information on how your donation is helping to make a difference in the lives of so many in our community and further afield please don’t hesitate to contact the house leader team.

Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support in the future.

Teenage Cancer Trust

Dear all,

The students and staff are in the final stages for their preparation for the 5k run in Pymmes Park this Saturday.

They have been training under the watchful eye of Mr McLean who has recently completed the Brighton marathon and raised over £600 alone towards our school target of £5,000!

The students had an assembly with a representative from Teenage Cancer Trust today who explained how the money raised is used to support teenagers who get cancer (a scary statistic provided was that 7 teenagers a day find out they have cancer in the UK).

Please, please, please dig deep tomorrow when you see the donation buckets, better still use the Just Giving page to leave a donation (don’t’ forget to Gift Aid it) and leave a message of support for those involved:

Please encourage students/family/friends to do the same, we are very grateful for the kind donations already received from staff, students and friends of the school who wish to support such a worthy charity.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support,

Non-uniform day on Thursday 19th December

In aid of the UNICEF appeal, staff and students can pay a £1 donation to wear festive colours and/or a Christmas jumper.

The money will be collected at the gate and during form-time.  Many thanks to all the students and staff who have been supporting this very worthwhile appeal.

Red Nose Day 2013

We are proud to be supporting Comic Relief 2013 on Friday 15th March by holding a part non-uniform day.

red noses on sales 2013

We would ask for a donation of a minimum of £1 towards Comic Relief. This will be collected by student leaders during form time.

Students can wear one item of clothing that is red – either top or trousers or skirt, but not both.

Throughout the week we will also be selling red noses for one pound each. All of the money raised will go directly to Comic Relief.

Please read the recent letter sent to you about this.
