Year 8 Success! Technology Challenge Day

A school trip was organised for some of our highest achieving able, gifted and talented students.

11 carefully selected year 8 students went to Middlesex University to take part in the Haringey and Enfield Science and Technology Challenge Day at Middlesex University on Tuesday 7th June 2016. This involved working together in mixed school teams to undertake practical activities that increased their awareness of the application of Science. Each activity was designed to develop skills that will be needed in the workplace and teams were scored based on their planning, team work and finished product.

The student’s that attended took part in activities such as:

  • Robotics – Where they were asked to build and program a robot
to navigate a series of obstacles.
  • E-FIT – Where they were asked to use police software to create an image of a ‘criminal’.
  • Vehicle – Where they were asked to design, build and then race a simple electric vehicle.
  • Medicine – Where they were asked to perform CPR on dummies, do tests and carry out other medical procedures required in an emergency situation.

All our students did exceptionally well in all the activities, so a massive well done and thank you to all.

Congratulations, particularly to:
