Work Experience and Apprentices

Work Experience

There are still students in Year 10 who have not secured a placement for Work Experience.

We have met with these students this week and they have set themselves some targets about looking for placements over the next week, which we will be following up.

Please encourage and support your child to find an opportunity – others are still managing to find one!

If your child has a placement secured, they will be coming home with a Job Description and Parental Agreement form which should be read, signed by you and returned to IAG as soon as possible.

A reminder that it all starts on 1st July!

Apprenticeships with Tfl

Apprenticeship in Information Management
An Information Management (IM) Apprenticeship provides a great opportunity for people who want to develop their skills in IT and data management and develop a career within a technical area vital to supporting the work of TfL. IM works to gather data, manage its storage and retrieval in a secure, efficient, cost effective way. We are recruiting in two different areas: IM Service Management Apprentices and IM Infrastructure Services

Apprentices.
These roles require different skills and strengths candidates will need to decide which of these two roles is most suitable for you before applying.

Which apprenticeship is right for me?

IM Service Management
If your child is interested in working in a technical project management area then they should apply for the IM Service Management Apprenticeship. Based in our Service Management Centre in North Greenwich, they will work with internal customers around TfL who use IM services and analyse and report back on incidents occurring on existing projects.

IM Infrastructure Services
If your child is interested in working with core IT infrastructure then they should apply for the IM Infrastructure Services Apprenticeship. Based in North Greenwich, they will maintain hardware and software systems used to deliver our core infrastructure services, such as physical and virtual hardware, operating systems, databases, desktops, storage, messaging and telephony systems.
